SurgRx®, founded in 2001 by Csaba Truckai, Rodney Perkins M.D., Bruno Strul PhD, and John Shadduck Esq., has developed a proprietary next generation sealing/cutting product called EnSeal®. This surgical device combines high compression and low heat to quickly create strong vessel seals while generating minimal smoke, tissue char or thermal injury. How fitting that the dictionary definition of EnSeal® is, "To seal with integrity". The smart electrode technology located in the jaws of the device, controls the delivery of energy and adjusts for differences in tissue density and impedance. The EnSeal® device, cleared by the FDA in 2003, is capable of sealing vessels up to 7mm in diameter.
SurgRx® is also developing future products that will be multi-functional, with the goal of reducing operating room time and associated costs. The company currently has 21 issued patents to support its family of EnSeal® products.
